DIY Candles with Urban Kangaroo!

Sunday is all about self care in our house, and when a package from Urban Kangaroo arrived on my doorstep on Sunday, it was a match made in heaven! Urban Kangaroo has tons of different kits: candles, lotion, bath bombs & lip balm. They have all natural ingredients and include everything you need for your project.

I made the candle kit and it was a huge success! It included all of the step-by-step instructions of what I needed to do as well as stickers, a colored pencil, jars, wax, candle wicks, scents & jars.

Then I set up my jars: I put all the labels on the lids, and used the included self-stick dots to put the wicks in the bottom of each jar.

I made a double broiler (the can was included) and melted the soy wax in the jar. At this point, you can also add the scent. There are two scents included and the directions recommend making 2 batches so that you can have 2 types of scented candles. I used the coconut scent for my first batch. A great thing about this kit is that it's fully customizable. I had eucalyptus oil on hand, so I decided to make eucalyptus scented candles instead of the English rose scent. I get sick a lot (teacher life) so I wanted some for my bedside!

Next up was pouring the scented wax into the candle jars. This made me feel like a professional candle maker!

The last step was clipping the wicks and allowing the candles to cool down. I placed the lids on the jars and left them alone for a while. Afterwards, I placed them around my house & enjoyed the fruits of my labor!
