Hey friends!
It's that time of year- holiday decorating season!! I have such a problem when I go into Marshall's on Homegoods because I want to get every single Christmas thing and fill my house with red plaid and glittered deers. And don't even get me started on all the Christmas signs - I want them ALL! Anyone else have this problem?
Today, I'm going to show you a super easy DIY Christmas sign that I made for our front porch. You can easily get this done in an afternoon and on your porch ASAP.
All you need is:
- 1 5' x 12" wood board (they sell these precut at Home Depot/Lowes or will cut in store for you)
- Sander & sand paper
- Paint brushes
- White paint
- Tape
- Pencil
- A printed out copy of this document
Step 1:
Sand your board very well and paint white. I used leftover white paint from painting our house, but any white paint is fine! I actually used the backside of this welcome sign that I made a few months back.
Step 2:
Tape all of the papers from the print-out onto your board. Trace the edges of all the letters with pen and push down hard so it makes an indent into the board. I used a ruler to trace the straight part of the letters so they came out neatly on the board.

Step 3:
Using red, brown & green paint, paint on your letters & reindeer. I did 2 coats of paint for everything. You can seal it with clear Hodge Podge spray once you're done.

Step 4: Once everything is dried, put the sign on your front porch, make chocolate martinis & enjoy your holiday decor!!

How easy was that?! And for a fraction of the price at Homegoods. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
xx
Lil
