Cooking is a great joy of mine. Even when we're busy, I'd rather make a quick meal than order something from a restaurant. With grocery delivery, easy pick-up & meal kit delivery services, it's become easier than ever to cook at home.
I love trying out new recipes & was excited to partner up with Every Plate to try out one of their meal kit boxes. So I wanted to share with you an honest review of what I thought of this brand and how it measures up to others!

First things first, Every Plate is a meal kit service that delivers everything you need to make a home-cooked meal. The only things not included are the cooking materials and household staples like oil, butter & salt/pepper. You can pick between a 2-person and a 4-person portion size and it comes with 3 meals per week. They boast a $3.33/per serving cost and it's about $39 per week for 3 dinners, which is substantially cheaper than your average restaurant. If you decide to subscribe to this service, you can use my discount code PETITEANDPREPPY30 or just click here.

Here's the "before & after" of one of the recipes we made - the apricot sriracha pork chops.
Pros:
- it's cheap. $39 per week isn't too shabby compared to other brands/the cost of dining out 3 times in a week
- the recipes are very easy to follow & simpler than other kits that I've tried.
- the recipes were for the most part 1 pan meals, making an easy clean up
- I am gluten free & was able to request GF meals & they also sent GF soy sauce for my meals, which was a huge bonus
- You're cooking with real ingredients and not eating preservatives or processed foods.
Cons:
- The portions are pretty small. I ordered the 4 person serving for myself & my husband because we like leftovers. The 2 person size is pretty small if you've got a hungry husband.
- The meals aren't as veggie heavy as I'd like. I like for half of my plate to be veggies, so we ended up adding our own leafy green salad on the side.
Worth mentioning:
- The meals were pretty good, but you might need to "spice it up" on your own. We added an onion to one of the recipes and additional seasonings as well.
- If you've got a grill, I'd recommend grilling the meat rather than pan searing it. It makes for better flavor & easier clean up.
- This brand is great if you're just looking for a great weeknight dinner that's quick & easy to make. What I mean is: No, it's not organic and not designed for those looking for a glamorous type of diet like keto, Paleo, Whole 30, etc. While these dinners aren't for those super focused on a popular diet, it makes it very easy to get a good weeknight meal on the table and are better for you than dining out.
Compared to other brands:
I am only comparing to other brands that I have actually tried.
Hello Fresh - Every Plate is cheaper than Hello Fresh, but the recipes aren't as exciting. But a more complicated recipe means more clean up. Both of these brands are easy to work with when you're gluten free.
Blue Apron - Both of these brands are equal in terms of convenient & easy to cook, but Every Plate is cheaper. I will say that if you're gluten free, Blue Apron didn't have as great of options.
Green Chef - Green Chef is the king of kings if you're GF, dairy-free, Pescatarian, vegetarian, etc. It's also organic. But glamorous comes with a price tag and Green Chef costs nearly double the price of Every Plate. If you aren't super worried about organic & grass-fed meats, Every Plate is the option for you.
Bottom Line:
I would 100% order again from Every Plate. I like how they are cost-friendly and simple and straight-foward meals. All of the meals were husband-approved and I love trying out new recipes. Their delivery was fast & their customer service very friendly. If you're gluten free, there are options available for you without the huge price tag of other brands.
